EBI and IMFS host 2024 joint conference on Banking Union

To mark the tenth anniversary of the banking union in the euro area with the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) and the Single Resolution Mechanism (SRM), the European Banking Institute (EBI) and the IMFS are jointly organizing the EBI Academic Global Conference 2024 on 15 and 16 February under the title "The Banking Union at Ten - European Banking and Capital Markets Law between 2014 and 2024".

The creation of the banking union in 2014 was a reaction to the financial crisis, which was accompanied by significant progress in a common EU regulatory framework and the creation of a new European supervisory and resolution architecture. The topics of the conference are now the adjustments to the Basel III reform, developments in bank resolution, digital finance and sustainable finance.

The EBI was founded in 2016 as a research network on the banking union. The IMFS represents Goethe University as an academic member of the EBI.
