IMFS Research Fellow Tobias Adrian appointed Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the IMF

Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), has appointed IMFS Research Fellow Tobias Adrian as Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department. Since 2003 Adrian has been working at the New York Fed, most recently as Senior Vice President and Associate Director of Research. I believe that his range of talents and experience makes him ideally suited to lead the Fund’s monetary, capital market and financial sector work at this time.” In January 2017, Adrian will take over the new position.
