Volker Wieland after the Euro summit on Greece (n-tv)

After 16 hours of negotiations the leaders of the eurozone have agreed on a new program for Greece. According to Professor Volker Wieland, however, the agreement does not necessarily entail the complete implementation of the reforms by the Greek government.

In an interview with the German TV station n-tv Wieland considered it positive that the eurozone leaders had reached an agreement. In a situation when the Greek goverment and the referendum had pronounced themselves against reforms, however, he was very skeptical that the agreement would be a success. In Wieland's opinion it remains to be seen whether Alexis Tsipras implements the reforms as well as the privatizations.
