Volker Wieland points out the risks of low-interest-rate policy ("Börsen-Zeitung")

While presenting the new annual report of the German Council of Economic Experts Professor Volker Wieland has pointed out the risks of the low-interest-rate policy of the European Central Bank (ECB).

He warned about a political superelevation of monetary policy as the "Börsen-Zeitung" reported. The growth related to that was "not sustainable", Wieland said. In his opinion, it is not clear whether the economic recovery is sustainable at all. Besides, monetary policy was taking reform pressure off the governments in the euro area.
