Volker Wieland, professor of Monetary Economics at the IMFS and member of the German Council of Economic Experts, ranks 11th in a ranking of Germany's most influential economists published by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) on September 5, 2013. The two criteria of the ranking are the economist's influence on academic research and on the public, in form of policy and media.
