Alexander Dück joined the IMFS in November 2019. Currently, he is a sixth-year student at GSEFM at Goethe University. In 2021/2022, he completed a six-months Ph.D. internship in the Monetary Policy and Research Department at the Bank of Finland. This internship led to a research project with Fabio Verona.

Since 2020, Alex has assisted in the second-year Ph.D. seminar "Macrofinancial Modeling" in current topics and in the second-year Ph.D. course "Monetary and Fiscal Policy: Theory and Practice". Before joining the Macroeconomic Model Data Base (MMB) team, Alex worked as a research assistant in the Department of Money and Macroeconomics of Goethe University.

During his studies at GSEFM he received a scholarship (Deutschlandstipendium) for two years. Alex completed his Bachelor's degree at Goethe University where he was involved in teaching undergraduate students in Mathematics and Business Informatics for nearly three years. Apart from that, he was on the Dean's List for excellent academic performance.

His research interests lie in the fields of optimal robust monetary policy, frequency-decomposition, non-linear modeling, and machine learning (especially neural networks).
