Volker Wieland does not see debt brake as an obstacle (CNBC Europe)

According to Prof. Volker Wieland, the debt brake is not an obstacle to necessary reforms in Germany. In an interview with CNBC Europe, he explained the possibilities that exist despite the debt brake.

"The debt brake is anchored in the Basic Law and must be respected," Wieland continued. At the municipal level, for example, there is room for maneuver, provided the municipality is not in debt. The KfW development bank offers programs for modernization investments and climate protection measures, Wieland explained.
