"Cash is coined liberty" - an interview of Helmut Siekmann with "VdK-Zeitung"

In some European countries like Sweden cash-free payment is gaining more and more ground. In an interview with "VdK-Zeitung" Helmut Siekmann explains why he does not assume the same for Germany.

To my mind, the abolishment of cash payments is unlikely, not least because the Bundesbank spoke out clearly against ist. Moreover, the abolishment of cash payment would be illegal as it would violate European Primary Law, Siekmann said.
