Iulia Costea studied law at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and Eberhard Karls University Tübingen. At the same time, she completed a postgraduate degree in European and International Business Law (LL.M. Eur.) at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. She devoted her thesis to the topic “China–Africa BITs – Evolution of Investment Protection Law and Challenges of Dispute Resolution in the Infrastructure Sector.”
During her studies, she received a Deutschlandstipendium. Her focus was on corporate, capital market, and European commercial law.
Since 2024, she has been working at the Chair of Public Law, Economic and Monetary Law, Financial Market Regulation, and Legal Theory of Prof. Dr. Broemel at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main – initially as a student assistant and subsequently as a research assistant. Her research focuses in particular on digital transformation, its impact on state and economic structures, and issues of platformization and its significance for democratic processes.
She also gained professional experience in internationally oriented commercial law firms specializing in public M&A, real estate and corporate law, and private equity.
She is currently completing her legal clerkship at the Frankfurt am Main Regional Court.
