Luca Schmitz is a Ph.D. student at the GSEFM and joined the IMFS in 2024. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration with a major in macroeconomics from Goethe University.
Luca brings a diverse range of professional experiences, from teaching positions at both the high school and university levels to internships at EY, Deutsche Börse AG, and Deutsche Bundesbank. His academic achievements were recognized with the DMV-price, the fwwg Bachelor Excellence Award, and the Deutschlandstipendium. Furthermore, he was named Best First-Year PhD Student at GSEFM.
His research interests focus on macroeconomic forecasting and model uncertainty, especially distributional forecasts, DSGE ensemble projections, and Bayesian estimation.
