Jan Sehorz studied law at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, focusing on the intersection of business law and finance. After gaining professional experience in various international law firms specialising in financial services and capital markets law as well as the digital economy, he returned to Goethe University in 2021 as a research assistant to Prof. Dr. Langenbucher at the Chair of Civil Law, Commercial Law and Banking Law in the House of Finance.
His research interests lie in civil and public law, particularly German and European financial supervision and capital markets law. In the context of the digital transformation of the financial market sector, he focuses particularly on the impact of digital business models on regulatory law in the financial services sector. In 2026, he earned his doctorate from Goethe University Frankfurt am Main with a dissertation entitled 'Finfluencing: The Supervisory Classification of the Phenomenon of Financial Influencers', having been a research assistant at the Chair of Civil Law, Financial Market Regulation, Banking and Monetary Law, now held by Prof. Dr. Katja Langenbucher at the IMFS. He is currently completing his legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main.
