IMFS Policy Lecture with Prof. Volker Wieland on December 12

A less favorable foreign trade environment andn temporary bottlenecks are slowing the pace of expansion of the German economy. In his IMFS Policy Lecture, Prof. Volker Wieland will present the recommendations of the German Council of Economic Experts (GCEE) on how to cope with this situation.

On November 7, the GCEE handed over its Annual Report to Chancellor Angela Merkel. As a member of this Council, IMFS Professor Wieland will talk about the key findingsn as well as the current monetary policy in the euro area.

The German Council of Economic Experts is an independent academic body advising German policy makers on questions of economic policy. It consists of five members, currently Prof. Dr. Christoph M. Schmidt, Prof. Dr. Peter Bofinger, Prof. Dr. Lars P.
