IMFS Policy Lecture with Prof. Volker Wieland on December 13

The question how a forward-looking economic policy could look like will be in the focus of Prof. Volker Wieland's presentation on the new annual report of the German Council of Economic Experts on December 13.

On November 8, the Council handed over its Annual Report to Chancellor Angela Merkel. As a member of this Council, IMFS Professor Wieland will talk about the key findings, the Council's reform recommendations for Germany and Europe as well as the current monetary policy in the euro area.

The German Council of Economic Experts is an independent academic body advising German policy makers on questions of economic policy. It consists of five members, currently Prof. Dr. Christoph M. Schmidt, Prof. Dr. Peter Bofinger, Prof. Dr. Lars P. Feld, Prof. Dr. Isabel Schnabel and Prof. Volker Wieland, Ph.D. An executive summary and several chapters of the Annual Report 2017/17 are available in an English version (PDF).
