Prof. Volker Wieland calls for stronger innovation incentives for small and medium-sized enterprises at the National Productivity Dialogue

Advancing digitalization and the platform economy are obviously no guarantors of productivity growth, Prof. Volker Wieland said at the National Productivity Dialogue of the German Council of Economic Experts and the European Commission Representation in Germany. "Productivity growth is declining worldwide." The Council of Experts therefore believes that stronger innovation incentives are appropriate, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.

At the National Productivity Dialogue on January 14, representatives from politics and business discussed how productivity could be increased and which obstacles should be removed in the process. The German Council of Economic Experts organized the National Productivity Dialogue together with the Representation of the European Commission in Germany for the second time.
