Volker Wieland appreciates competition among rating agencies ("Welt am Sonntag")

The European rating agency Fitch is about to tackle its competitors, the established US rating agencies Moody's, Standard & Poor's and Fitch. For Volker Wieland, this is a positive aspect. "Also in the area of rating agencies there is a need for a certain competition," he said in an interview with the German weekly newspaper "Welt am Sonntag".

According to Scope, its approach is different from its American competitors. "If a European rating agency is more familiar with the situation in Europe than its American competitors, this can be a business model," Wieland said.
