Volker Wieland criticizes economic reforms of the grand coalition ("Deutschlandfunk")

The economic situation in Germany is good, Volker Wieland said in an interview with "Deutschlandfunk". However, reforms like the introduction of the minimum wage, the early retirement at age 63 as well as the integration of immigrants on the labor market were weakening the future viability of the country, he pointed out.

Instead of having the possibility of an early retirement at age 63, we should rather lengthen the working-life span, Wieland added. In his opinion, this reform was going completely in the wrong direction.
