According to Prof. Volker Wieland, Italy's idea of introducing so-calles mini-BOTS represent a deliberate provocation. It is an attempt to increase Italy's debt capacity, he said in an interview with the daily newspaper "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung".
In his opinion, Rome was trying to make the EU Commission and the EU member states accept Italy's debt although the country was breaching fiscal rules.
