Book presentation with Prof. Otmar Issing in a joint event on September 10, 2024

In a joint event of the House of Finance, the Center for Financial Studies (CFS), the Institute for Banking and Financial History (IBF) and the IMFS, Prof. Otmar Issing will present his book "Von der D-Mark zum Euro: Erinnerungen des Chefökonomen" on September 10.

The euro was born 25 years ago, on January 1, 1999. Since then, the single currency has shaped the European economy and established itself as the second most important currency in the world alongside the dollar. Otmar Issing was at the center of developments as the first Chief Economist of the then newly established European Central Bank (ECB).

Prof. Dr. Dr. mult. h.c. Otmar Issing was a member of the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank and its Chief Economist from 1990 to 1998. From 1998 to 2006 he was a member of the Executive Board of the ECB. He is Honorary President of the CFS.
