Prof. Volker Wieland evaluates ideas for pension reform (Focus)
FOCUS online asked seven renowned pension and economic experts—both national and international—including Prof. Volker Wieland, to rate key reform proposals on a scale of 1 (“very sensible”) to 6 (“not sensible”). The criterion was the long-term contribution to the financial stability and intergenerational equity of the statutory pension insurance system.
The results show that the experts’ opinions on some proposals are worlds apart. There is near-consensus on only one reform.
