Welcome to the
Institute for Monetary and Financial Stability
The Institute for Monetary and Financial Stability (IMFS) is a research center of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main. The IMFS is an implementation of the project Monetary and Financial Stability funded by the Foundation "Geld und Währung".
The main objective of the IMFS is to raise public awareness about the significance of monetary and financial stability. It does so primarily through its research acitivities and by organizing conferences, seminars, and lectures with national and international participation. The Institute promotes a dynamic exchange of ideas among central banks, financial market players, and supervisory agencies and contributes to scientific progress in its areas of expertise. Advising government entities in these fields is another IMFS task.
The IMFS is committed to excellence in research and graduate education. Economic as well as legal aspects are treated in an integrated approach. The Institute takes pride in fostering promising young academics and professionals; this is one of the prominent goals of the Institute.
